Last updated: April 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the GruuvyPay mobile application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use of GruuvyPay after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a Nigerian resident or citizen to use GruuvyPay. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. GruuvyPay reserves the right to request proof of identity and residency at any time.
3. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your PIN and password. Never share your PIN with anyone — GruuvyPay will never ask for it. You are responsible for all transactions made under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact support@gruuvypay.com immediately. We recommend enabling biometric authentication for additional security.
4. Permitted Use
GruuvyPay is provided for personal, lawful financial transactions including: sending and receiving money between users, paying utility bills, purchasing airtime and data, and trading cryptocurrency. You agree to use GruuvyPay only for lawful purposes consistent with these terms and applicable Nigerian law.
5. Prohibited Activities
You may not use GruuvyPay for: money laundering or terrorist financing, fraud or identity theft, processing payments for illegal goods or services, conducting transactions on behalf of sanctioned individuals or entities, circumventing KYC requirements, or any activity that violates applicable Nigerian law including the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act. Violations may result in immediate account suspension and reporting to relevant authorities.
6. Transaction Limits
Transaction limits are determined by your KYC verification tier in accordance with CBN guidelines: Tier 0 (unverified): up to ₦50,000 per day. Tier 1 (basic verification): up to ₦200,000 per day. Tier 2 (full KYC): up to ₦1,000,000 per day. Tier 3 (enhanced KYC): higher limits available on request. GruuvyPay reserves the right to adjust limits in compliance with regulatory requirements.
7. Fees
Transfers between GruuvyPay users are currently free. Bill payment fees vary by provider and will be clearly displayed before you confirm a transaction. Cryptocurrency trading fees are charged by our partner exchange (Quidax) and will be displayed at the time of trading. We reserve the right to introduce fees for certain services with 30 days notice.
8. Intellectual Property
GruuvyPay and all associated trademarks, logos, software, and content are the intellectual property of GruuvyPay and its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the GruuvyPay application for personal use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of GruuvyPay without express written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
GruuvyPay is provided on an as-is basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of GruuvyPay. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of the transaction giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized account access where you have failed to maintain the security of your credentials.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of GruuvyPay shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
